I went to Whole Foods over the weekend to get some ingredients for my minestrone soup which turned out pretty good, worthy of a post for next time. I have not been to the one in Pasadena on Arroyo and is it a playground for health/organic nuts! I loves it! I love the tea corner, loose nuts/trail mix wall and beauty section on the first floor. I love the cafe bar, dessert cases and Mediterranean buffet on the second floor.

But what I love most about Whole Foods, for this week at least, is that they make Three Sisters Graham Crackerz. This is the healthy version and in my option tastier version of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and it comes in a bag instead of a box. Three Sisters Graham Crackerz doesn’t give you that sugary coating aftertaste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch does. The crunch texture is also a better than CTC. CTC has almost a fried shrimp chip crunch to it but Three Sisters tastes more like miniture graham crackers. (duh!)

Unfortunately, this is the first time and the last time that I will be buying this because I am just too addicted to it. I bought the bag on Sunday and with EXTREME will power, finished it today during lunch. I constantly think about it and plan my meals and calories so I can eat more of these goodies. In other words, it’s taken over my life and I have to put a stop to it before I regret doing something horrible.

So this is Hello and Good Bye, Three Sisters Graham Crackerz…. Ooohhh…but looky…they have 3 more flavors! Helooooo Sisters…….

WOOHOO! This is probably one of my most favorite time of the year besides the LA County Fair and Thanksgiving. Funny thing is I will search forever to find me some Girl Scouts then buy some cookies, have 1 Samoa and make other people eat the rest of the cookies. But I have 1 condition for these lucky people, they have to let me watch them eat the cookies.

Yeah…it’s a thing that I have. OK, so this may sound like some kind of strange fetish but saying that it’s a fetish makes it so…deviant. And cookies are NOT deviant. So there. As delicious as these cookies are, I just can’t justify the calories. So I am reduced to live vicariously by watching people eat it. It almost gives me the same satisfaction as eating one myself….almost.

So now I have another outlet for NOT eating these cookies. I can now blog about them and there’s definitely no deviant-ness in that.

Here are my favorite Girl Scout cookies. The rest of the bunch can be found on the Girl Scouts Cookies website. The below pictures and descriptions are taken from the website.

Samoas® or Caramel deLites®: These are round doughnut-shaped cookies about two inches in diameter with a hole in the center, covered in caramel and toasted coconut, and then striped with chocolate. Samoas® are made by Little Brownie Bakers. The ABC version is called Caramel

deLites®.

Tagalongs® or Peanut Butter Patties®: These are round cookies with a layer of peanut butter on top, and covered in chocolate. These cookies come in a red box. Little Brownie Bakers calls them Tagalongs®; ABC Bakers call them Peanut Butter Patties®.

Thin Mints: The most enduring and universally familiar Girl Scout cookie. These round, mint-flavored cookies covered with dark chocolate perennially sell the most boxes of any cookie. Thin Mints have never changed their name. Little Brownie Bakers and ABC Bakers both make Thin Mints.

Trefoils or Shortbread: These shortbread cookies are shaped like the Girl Scout Trefoil design. Scot Teas were a similar, lighter sugar cookie made by the now defunct Burry. These cookies come in a blue box. Little Brownie Bakers calls them Trefoils; ABC Bakers call them Shortbread.

Do-Si-Dos® or Peanut Butter Sandwich: A sandwich cookie. The round, bumpy perforated oatmeal cookie top and bottom surrounds a peanut butter-flavored layer inside. Do-Si-Dos® (formerly Gauchos) are baked by Little Brownie Bakers. ABC Bakers calls them Peanut Butter Sandwiches.

I like Little Brownie Bakers better than this ABC Bakers. I mean Why call a peanut butter cookie “Peanut Butter Sandwiches” when you can call them Do-Si-Dos?

These cookies have been around since I was a Girl Scout back when fluorescent pink wrist bands and crimped hair were cool. The cookies were 2 bucks a pop back then and during Girl Scout cookie season, I would don my Kermit green uniform and peddle cookies door to door. Come to think of it, what the hell was my mom thinking letting me go all by myself? How did she know that I wasn’t going to get lost or get kidnapped or get attacked by a long hair Shi-Tzhu and get the door slammed in my face? Luckily only the latter 2 things happened to me. And it traumatized me so much that I couldn’t even look at a box of Girl Scout cookies let alone eat one until I was in college. Now I find Girl Scouts in front of supermarkets, with a nice display tables and gingham border table cloth with their parents in tow. How come we didn’t think of that in the 80′s?

Oh…you know what would be a great idea?! Girl Scouts cookies in 100 calories packs! I would eat a pack or two all by myself. Oh puh-lease Girl Scouts, please make these 100 calories packs so I can stop my fetish of watching other people eat your delicious cookies.
