Wow, has it been almost a year since I last updated?! But believe me when I say that I’ve missed blogging and food adventures. But I have been doing a little cookin’ myself…..

Since my last post, I :

-Had a bun in the oven and mini Nanciful arrived in June

-Was diagnosed with gestational diabetes which really put a damper on my pregnancy cravings (and my food blog)

-Became a homeowner (I am still living with nightmares from the renovations)

-Was certified as a yoga teacher (yes while pregnant!)

-Went 5 days without showering or washing my hair (part of my30 days postpartum confinement, more on this later)

-Ate ginger and black chicken almost everyday during those 30 day confinement diet

Hence the lack of time to update blog and lack of effort on my part. Unfortunately for me, during the first 3 months of my pregnancy, I had MAJOR morning sickness. All I could eat was Lays original potato chips, black bean chicken with rice and thousand year egg porridge from Phoenix and Coco Puffs with milk. So not a lot of content for this blog. However, I aim to start (food) blogging again on a regular basis soon and really looking forward to my re-entry into the world. Just wanted to drop a quick hello to those who still remembers this little ole’ blog.

We just recently had dinner at Palate Wine Bar with our dear friend Azat of 90 Plus Wine. Hopefully, I’ll get a review of Palate up in this lifetime. Being the superfly wine connoisseur that he is, he picked out a 2006 Clos Saint Jean Chateauneauf du Pape Vieilles Vignes. (It’s a really good Cabernet for us lay people.) The wine smelled so good I wonder why they don’t bottle it and sell it as perfume. It was fruity and complex but refreshing at the same time. Please visit 90 Plus Wine to check out Azat’s review. You can also find extraordinary recipes and even more wine reviews on the site.

I found my camera, I found my camera! It was in Hubs’ car this whole time! I drove his car to the dentist and put it in that little comparment in between the seats. However, I only have a teensy shred of memory of my doing that. Scary how quickly my memory is going…:(

HOWEVER….when I went to upload my pictures, my laptop spazzed(is that a real word or did I say something bad in Gen Y terms?) on me! The monitor is doing all sort of crazy, mini flea race squares all over the screen. Hubs said that it’s very common for Dell laptops to do that. Boo. So my food blogging is now halted once again due to technical difficulties. ( I’m writing on his MacBook.)

I don’t know what’s going on but maybe the food blog gods are speaking to me? Hopefully all this bad tech karma will go away soon.

I last had it at Love Birds Cafe in Pasadena when I took a picture of my ever so delicious vegetarian sandwich with their famous basil sauce. Then a day later when I as ready to upload all my food pictures, the camera was nowhere to be found! I have about a good 3-4 entries of pictures in there! BAH! I retraced my steps and called Love Birds and even my dentist because I was there over the weekend getting my teeth cleaned. But alas…. NOTHING!

I am going crazy by the minute. Oh trusty Canon, where have you gone? Please come back to me!

In the past year, I’ve joined Facebook. In the past 3 months, I fell in love with Rock Band (2!). In the past week, I bought skinny jeans. This week, I will become an owner of a brand new spankin’ iPhone. To continue my transformation to the modern world, what is more fitting than to get my own blog?! I’ve wanted to start a food blog for the longest time but just never gotten around doing it. I have pictures of food from local eateries and from my travel overseas dating all the way back to the early 2000’s. If I ever feel ambitious enough, I will go and dig up those pictures from my ancient Dell desktop and try to recapture those food and dining experiences.

However, now that the blog is finally up and running, I’m not sure if food is all I want to blog about. I’ll have to see where inspiration takes me. (Who wants to bet a red velvet cupcake from Lark Cake Shop that future blog posts will be 78% about food?)
