Culinary Explorations and Experiences around LA and the Foodiverse
Over the last couple of days, I had the chance to try 2 new restaurants….but no pictures to show for them.
I had my camera, the Hubs had his camera and we both had our iPhones. But NOPE! It did not cross my mind that I should be snappin’ pictures. Instead I was too busy snappin’ and fillin’ my mouth, I did not even realize the mistake that I’ve made until we are doggy bagging our leftovers. DOH!!! I am furious at myself…FURIOUS!
One of the restaurants I tried was an awesome Chinese vegetarian restaurant in the Focus Plaza at San Gabriel. I’ve been trying to find a replacement for Happy Family for the longest time and now I’ve found it! Sorry Happy Family fans but everything tastes the same there. It reminds me of a “green” Panda Express…blegh.
On a side note, this is my favorite thing to read before bed right now:
There are lots of great recipes in the magazine and I like how it doesn’t take a Food Channel chef to make something from their recipes. I’ve already tried 2 recipes from the magazine. One turn out okay (turkey meatloaf which I will post about later) the other one…not so much. It ended up tasting like a hot dog! I think it was the Dijon mustard and shallots combo. Here is the picture and recipe of Peppercorn Chicken and Lemon Spinach from FoodTV.com for those of you that want to try it. Let me know if it tastes like a hot dog to ya.

This magazine is hard to find though. That’s why I ended up subscribing to it and got the first issue in the mail yesterday…whoopee! Except it was the same issue that I bought already. I HATE it when that happens.
As a resident of Los Angeles and an extensive traveler, Nanciful’s tastebuds have been around the block and then some. This blog will focus on my reviews of local and international dining experiences. These will range from restaurants that break the bank to delectables that can be bought from change found in the couch. The blog will also include my musings of the world, her travels, her wishes and desires and everything else.
I am also trying my hand at cooking. So stay tuned for adventures and experiments from the kitchen.
Some of my interests include spending time with the Hubs, yoga, running, Sweaty Sunday, traveling, eating, reading food blogs while eating, and perusing a menu or cookbook before bedtime.
